Jay Storey's Runner-Up Finish at Bandimere!

Our team made the journey to Bandimere Speedway this past weekend. After a strong start to the season with divisional wins from AJ (Great Bend) and Aydan (Denver), we were hoping to leave the mountain with yet another Wally in hand.

Out of our 5 drivers, Jay was the only one fortunate enough to make it to Sunday. Given that this was his first ever Sunday appearance at an NHRA National, he was anxious to come out on top. He faced Brenda Grubbs in the Semi-Final round, who is as tough as they come. Brenda had the better light, but Jay was able to run dead on 7 for the win, advancing him to his first NHRA Final Round. 

In the final, Jay faced off against John Brimer in his FS/AA Cobra Jet. Jay had the better light this time, but Brimer was able to take home the Wally after running dead on 8, beating Jay by one thousandth of a second. A runner-up finish is nothing to be ashamed of, but Jay was disappointed that he couldn't seal the deal. The loss made him even more hungry for his first Wally, and we can guarantee that you will see him in another final round very soon!
